Through the Years!
After 52 years of witnessing births, we must conclude that the most powerful women on the planet are birthing mothers and the women and men who support them throughout the process. Birthing is a privilege and a sacred honor. We are honored to serve as Kingdom Doulas.

So, Why?
The Nehemiah Birthing Project Inc. and The Redemptive Childbirth Doula Certification Program were founded in response to a growing maternal health crisis in the United States—one that disproportionately impacts Black mothers and underserved families.
After decades of experience in labor and delivery nursing, childbirth education, doula practice, and nursing education leadership, I recognized a critical gap: mothers need skilled, continuous, and compassionate support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care, yet access to trained doulas remains limited.

Research consistently demonstrates that doula support improves birth outcomes, reduces stress and complications, and enhances postpartum recovery. However, the cost of training often prevents those most called—and most needed—from entering this work. This program was created to address that inequity by providing faith-rooted, evidence-based doula education and scholarship support.
Grounded in a biblical worldview and inspired by Nehemiah’s call to rebuild what has been broken, this program equips Kingdom Doulas to serve with excellence, advocacy, and compassion. Our mission is to restore dignity to childbirth, strengthen families, and rebuild the protective walls around mothers—one trained doula, one supported family, and one birth at a time.
